Frequently Asked Questions

RoadReady is an app that is being constantly monitored and updated as the technology of both phones and the app develop over time. That being said, there may be times when your app has an issue. The following troubleshooting guide is designed to help you navigate simple fixes to get you up and running again with little or no interruption in recording drives for the licensing process.

REMINDER: There is currently no Profile Page to show you your login info (email address and password). Before proceeding, make sure you have the correct login info for your app. If you cannot remember which email you used to create the account, email Customer Service with the full names of the driver and the adult on the account, as well as the driver's date of birth. You will be contacted with your login info shortly thereafter.

General Issues with the App

The first thing you can do if RoadReady isn't working smoothly is to delete the app and redownload it. This will assure you have the latest version of the app, and you won't lose any data, as it is stored on our servers. This should resolve most issues. Be sure to have your correct login credentials on hand, as you will have to sign in again once you've redownloaded the app.

Specific Issues

Trouble logging into the app

There is one and only one login for every RoadReady account. Typically, this would be the email address used by the parent or other licensed driver who set up the app originally. Confirm with the parties involved which address was used and if needed, use the Forgot Password? Link on the home page of the app.

Forgot Password

If you have forgotten your password, simply use the Forgot Password? link on the app to get a reset email, and then you should be all set.

Not getting the Reset Password email

Some email domains mark our Reset emails as spam. Once you've confirmed which email address is the one used on the account, look in your spam folder for the Reset email. If you didn't get one, contact Customer Service and we can resubscribe you and get you back into your account.

Retrieving your driving log

You can retrieve your driving log at any time. Just click on the three white lines in the upper corner of the app and select “Export Driving Log”. You can then send your log to the email address associated with the account so you can print it, sign it, and take it to the DMV when your driver goes in to take their test.

Mileage not recording

Mileage tracking was part of the original app, but since the DMV does not require mileage for the licensing process, that part of the app is no longer supported. You can ignore this column.

Tracking Level 2 driving requirements

If your driver has completed their initial licensing requirements, you can create a new driver within the app to record the new driving hours. Simply create a new driver with (Level 2) as a surname, and record all new drives with that driver. You can white out the old hours when you print out the driving log and write in the new requirements.

The app did not record my drive

You can manually enter any drive if it did not save properly. To do so, please follow these steps:

  1. Open RoadReady and log-in into your account
  2. Click the main menu (three lines in top left of dashboard)
  3. Select "Log Previous Drive"
  4. Enter the start time, duration, weather, road time, and time of day for the drive
  5. Click "Save" at the bottom of the screen
Deleting a drive

If you added a drive by mistake or misrecorded a drive, you can delete it. To delete drives, please follow these steps:

  1. Open RoadReady and log-in into your account
  2. Click the main menu (three lines in top left of dashboard)
  3. Select "View Driving Log"
  4. From the Driving Log, find the drive that you want to delete and select it
  5. Click “Delete Drive" on the summary screen of the selected drive
My night drive recorded as a day drive

The app will determine local sunset times via the device's location and time at drive start, and the app will tag the drive accordingly. However, if you would like to override this, you can simply select "Night" upon drive completion, or "Edit" an existing drive. To edit drives, please follow these steps:

  1. Open RoadReady and log-in into your account
  2. Click the main menu (three lines in top left of dashboard)
  3. Select "View Driving Log"
  4. From the Driving Log, find the drive that you want to edit and select it
  5. Click "Edit Drive" on the summary screen of the selected drive
  6. Click "Time of Day", then select "Night", then click "Done"
  7. Click "Save" to save your edits

You can also Google “Sundown at (your location)” to determine when night driving starts.

Adding a second child to the app

To create a new driver, log into the app and hit the “+Add New Driver” to create a new driver instead of selecting the name of the current driver on the account. Enter their info and hit Save and you should be all set.

The app times out during a drive

The timeout feature that was built into the app relies on GPS tracking, and will timeout without any movement for 5 minutes. While it cannot be disabled, you can turn it off for your phone. Go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services and set RoadReady's location access to “Never”.

You have created two separate RoadReady accounts for one driver

Unfortunately there is currently no way to link two accounts that have been set up for the same driver. We recommend that both parents and all drivers should sign into the same account with the email address and password used to set up the account originally. That way all drives are kept in one place! If you've already created two accounts, you can print out the driving logs from both accounts when they add up to your requirement, or you can add the drives from the smaller account to the larger one by using the Log Previous Drive function.

Drive did not save

You can then manually enter any unsaved drives by doing the following:

  1. Open RoadReady and log-in into your account
  2. Click the main menu (three lines in top left of dashboard)
  3. Select "Log Previous Drive"
  4. Enter the start time, duration,, weather, road type and time of day for the drive
  5. Click "Save" at the bottom of the screen
You can't see text while typing

The app has an issue with Zoom Mode. Delete the app and redownload it, you should be up and running as normal. You won't lose any data, as it is stored on our servers.

If the problem persists, go into Settings > Display & Brightness > scroll to the bottom and see if you have Standard view or Zoom.If you have it set to Zoom, set it to Standard and reopen the app.

Drives aren't synching between devices

As long as two devices are signed into the same account, and recording drives, they should eventually synch up. Just keep an eye on your logged drives and check the next day to make sure that they've synched up. If the problem persists, contact Customer Service.

App Functions

Q: How can supervisors and teens access their drives and driving log on different devices?

A: RoadReady drive sessions and the driving log are specific to accounts. Supervisors and teens can use the same email address and password associated with that account to access their drives and driving log on different devices. For example, if mom and dad both spend time supervising their teen driver, then they will need to share account log-ins to be able to add the time to one driving log.

Q: Can driving logs be merged from two different accounts?

A: While two or more separate driving logs cannot currently be merged in the app, RoadReady does offer users the ability to manually enter drives not previously recorded with the app. Drive sessions that are manually entered will appear on the driving log.

Q: How can I delete a driver from my account?

A: RoadReady allows you to add new drivers to each account so that you may manage multiple teen drivers. The app does not currently allow you to delete drivers from your account.

Q: I started to log my drive and at the end noticed my drive summary was recorded incorrectly. Is the app broken?

A: RoadReady relies on the ability to track your drive based on GPS data and a connection to an Internet source. If you are driving in a low to no coverage area, then the app may not function properly. Additionally, if you do not allow the app to use your current location, then the app will not function properly when it is closed or your phone is locked. We have built in some additional functionality to account for low coverage and a weak connection to GPS data, but RoadRead works best in high coverage areas and when you allow it to access your current location. If you are encountering this problem, please contact us to let us know and we will be happy to offer additional guidance and information.

Q: Can I edit a part of my drive?

You can edit the time of any drive you think was misrecorded.

  6. Click the field you wish to edit, make your changes, then click "Done"
  7. Click "Save" to save your edits
Q: I was already half way through the supervised driving requirement when I learned of your app. How can I add my previous drives to the RoadReady driving log?

A: RoadReady allows you to manually enter drives you may not have tracked with the app. In the menu, click on “Log Previous Drive” and enter the information associated with each of your tracked drives. These drives will then be added to your driving log.

Q: How can I share my RoadReady experience with friends and family?

A: At the end of each of your drive sessions, a drive summary will be generated. Before you click “Save Drive,” you can click “Share Drive” for options to share that drive to your social networks or to text and email the drive to friends and family.

App Platforms

Q: Is the RoadReady available for use on the iPad?

A: RoadReady is an app for use on iPhones. While it is available to download from the App Store for iPads, RoadReady will not function correctly on the iPad. The app requires GPS connectivity not currently available on the iPad to function properly and to accurately record and track your drive.

Q: Is RoadReady available for Android?

A: Yes! It can be downloaded here.

App Emails

Q: When I downloaded the RoadReady app, I immediately received an email. Am I on a spam email list? How can I stop receiving emails?

A: RoadReady wants to be with you throughout the supervised driving process. We are here to answer your questions and guide you through the experience. Every new user of RoadReady will receive an introduction email. Following this introduction, we will send you an email every week with an update of your driving record. It's our way of reminding you to keep driving and making sure you get plenty of experience behind the wheel. Additionally, when you created your account if you "opted-in" you may receive email messages from our sponsors. At no time is your email shared with our sponsor companies. All emails from RoadReady, The Parent's Supervised Driving Program and its sponsors are distributed from RoadReady and personal addresses are not delivered directly to third party agencies. If you would like to unsubscribe, you can do so by clicking “unsubscribe” at the bottom of any of our email communications.

The Parent's Supervised Driving Program

Q: I noticed RoadReady is a component of The Parent's Supervised Driving Program. What is this Program?

A: The Parent's Supervised Driving Program is a resource for parents and guardians to utilize when teaching their teen to drive. The Program includes the RoadReady mobile app, a printed curriculum available at state licensing centers as well as a social network on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube and a webpage: www.theparentssuperviseddrivingprogram.com. The mission of The Parent's Supervised Driving Program is to arm parents and guardians with the necessary resources to ensure their teen is a well educated, safe driver when they begin to drive independently.

Q: Where can I get a copy of The Parent's Supervised Driving Program?

A: The Parent's Supervised Driving Program is distributed by participating state agencies to parents and teens when teens receive their learner's permit. For more information and to download a copy of your state's guide, please visit www.theparentssuperviseddrivingprogram.com.

Q: My teen and I are using RoadReady to track our supervised drives. In what other ways can I ensure my teen learns to drive safely?

A: Parents and guardians play a key role in their teen driver's education. Studies have proven that the more time parents and guardians spend with their teen behind the wheel, the safer the teen is when they drive independently. We encourage you to utilize the many resources available to you through The Parent's Supervised Driving Program and to spend as much time as possible practicing driving with your teen.

Q: I have a question that was not addressed on this page. What is the best way to contact RoadReady?

A: We would love to hear from you. Please fill out the feedback form at roadreadyapp.com and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
